the dedication of the new pedestrian mall on the campus of West Texas A&M University. A state historical marker was also dedicated at the Buffalo Courts Alumni Center by the Randall County Historical Commission.

Folklife Festival salutes diversity

The Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum celebrated the diversity of culture in the Panhandle last weekend at the Folklife Festival.
Several groups included in the festival were Texas Classical ballet, Cadence Cloggers, storytellers, the Frontier Regiment of the High Plains, Jerre’s Merry Fiddlers, Celtic dancing. Also included were demonstrations of leather working, handweavers, quilts, pottery making and ferrier work.

The Canyon High School football team put a cap on the 2007 Homecoming festivities on September 28th with a 28-14 win against Sanford-Fritch.
Students remained at Kimbrough Memorial Stadium after the game to watch "Goonies" on the stadium jumbotron.
On September 27th, students filled floats for the annual parade before the Powderpuff football game at Canyon Junior High School.
The Canyon High Class of 1987 held its 20-year reunion in conjunction with the festivities, with several football players returning.
